The bicycle engineers from SOLAR BIKE and E.Z. RIDER have worked together to create the world's first electric fixi. The fixed gear bicycle is the type of bicycle that is used in velodrome racing; no gears, no brakes and a racing frame and component design optimised for speed and efficiency. The electric fixi takes these concepts and has urbanised some features, such as brakes and free wheel ability to create a high performance bicycle that is designed to be the perfect urban commuting vehicle. The deficits of a single gear are completely taken care of by the slick bicycle design and electric motor. Using a custom designed reinforced fixed wheel bicycle, the most advanced battery system (shaped into a water bottle style carrier) and a light weight 200W front hub motor, this is an exceptional bicycle. The bicycle is street legal and has a range of approximately 45km with light pedalling. All components of this bicycle are very high quality and have been sourced by SOLAR BIKE from only the best suppliers. Assembly has been performed by the engineers from E.Z. RIDER. This is the newest and funkiest electric bicycle we have been able to find. It's a retro-looking street legal Japanese designed model that is super comfortable to ride and the latest on the market. It is truly the most advanced of its sort in Australia. This bike does not have to be registered and no licence is required to ride it (provided you employ the 200W option). It falls under the electrical bicycle laws and is treated as being just like a normal bicycle. The 200W model can be upgraded to 500W by installing a modified motor control unit. A high quality lithium ion battery upgrade is available to create an extended range and lighter bike. |

| 2000W Dual Wheel Electric Bike | |
Of all the bicycle shows and factories we visited in China this was by far the most impressive electric bike we found (we'll put a video of it up shortly). It is a truly impressive and dangerous machine, there is a hell of a lot of kick once you turn the throttle. There is a 1000W motor in each wheel, regenerative braking, front and rear disc brakes and the controller for each motor resides within the hub. It is powered by a 48V 12Ah lithium ion battery. The controllers are programmable to allow you to regulate your power or battery consumption via a computer interface. We are the exclusive dealers for this bike in Australia but we do not keep it in stock. We operate solely as the go between to aid you importing this bike direct from the factory and don't stock components or condone its use. This 26" rim mountain bike is air-shipped direct from the factory in China and delivery takes approximately 3 weeks. The bike costs $1990 and air-shipment costs a further $495 (total of $2485). From all of our research, testing and factory visits we've come to the conclusion that there are only 4 good motor manufacturers in China - this comes from number 1, so it's the best you're likely to find but problems can still arise. We have not experienced any need to maintain or replace components to date but if such a need arises the buyer must understand that it takes us approximately 3 weeks to get these components in. Be very careful, it's really quite a handful! |

| Custom Made Electric Bicycles | |
If you would like a complete custom designed electric bike then please look through the bicycle and conversion kits pages to decide which configuration will suit you. Alternatively, bring your bicyle to us and we will do the conversion for you ($90 assembly fee). Once ready, go to the purchase page and select the components you would like on the order form. Submit the form and we will invoice you and then send all of the components to your doorstep. Cost will be $1,230 for an electric mountain bike and $1,260 for an electric hybrid/road bicycle. Delivery of complete electric bicycle components is free within Perth and $55 to all other Australian cities. Please note that you will be required to assemble the kit on the bicycle still. We can do this for you if you live in Perth. If you live in other states then please contact a handy friend or a bicycle shop, we've found about 50% of bicycle shops are happy to do this assembly for a small fee.
