Thank you to Gary for sending in this review. It is of his Bacchetta Giro 26″ recumbent that he made electric.
” This was an easy install of a 250w 9ah front hub kit. The battery was mounted on the rear of the seat using one of the water bottle mounts. The controller was put on the frame under the seat. The performance is great on the flat and up the hills. The main reason for installing this kit was that I wanted a throttle assist burst to get moving, when starting at intersections and hill starts it can be very challenging with a recumbent. On the flat ground the throttle only pulls 6.5 amps, so the 9ah battery lasts and lasts. I have done long runs and still have a lot of battery capacity left. The cruise speed is approximately 27 km/h. I have steel forks and installed both torque arms.”
