Every now and then the guy on the back just isn’t pedaling like he should be. Don’t worry, we have a solution here for you. This elongated bicycle was fitted with a nice front electric hub motor and a 21Ah battery located within the rear triangle. Will give a super long range and now no one needs to pedal like they should, save your energy for the destination and not the journey!
This was a lovely pic sent in by Phil. Words were “Super happy with conversion, super easy to fit.”
The NORCO Scene VLT is perhaps the most comfortable urban step-through bicycle we’ve come across. We loved doing electric conversions with front or rear hub motors on the older scene models but this year NORCO have brought out a factory produced electric model. It’s not cheap, retailing at $3990, but you’d be hard pressed to find something as comfortable and as full of hidden features as this model. For starters, the electrics include the SHIMANO STEPS E6100 system with a 504Wh battery on the down tube. The SHIMANO mid-drive motor is beautiful, it’s nearly silent and extremely well-supported in Australia on the very odd chance there is a failure. The 500Wh battery, equivalent to 36V 14Ah, will give a great riding range as well. Likely around 50-100km depending on power mode setting and rider input. Other features include Alivio 9 speed gears, Tektro HD hydraulic disc brakes, through-axles and a dropper seat pole. If you are looking for an extremely comfortable and high quality ebike then we highly recommend you come into our Fremantle shop for a free test ride. They are available in jade, black and blue with small, medium and large frame sizes.
Dane was one of a bunch of people who took advantage of a 6.6kW grid-connected solar system fully installed plus an electric bicycle for $5K. Perfect timing as the sun is just beginning to shine. Electricity bills will be down by around $100/month and petrol expense will be down by about $200/month based on rough calculations. Hopefully his waist line will be down by a few inches come Christmas as well with all the extra riding he’ll be doing. Click here to see special details.
We haven’t had one of these bikes come in for a conversion for a while until recently and it’s a shame. They’re great bikes. Unfortunately, they’re pretty hard to come by with this whole COVID stuff going on, as are many other bikes. What makes this nice is that it’s a belt drive bike with a lovely Alfine 8 speed SHIMANO internal hub gear; a personal favourite. The only option is really to put a front wheel hub motor on it and that is what we did; along with a pedal assist control system and 14Ah Tiger Shark battery within the frame for a great riding range. This bike is a certain for clocking up thousands of kilometres a year for the next 5-10 years without a hitch.
Many thanks to Jim and Kay for their business and sending us some kind feedback. Here’s what they said in regard to getting a conversion kit and putting it on a relatively cheap but functional bicycle.
“We just wanted to send you guys a HUGE thank you for the service we received recently when we purchased two conversion kits from your Fremantle Solar Bike shop. They were the front mini-motor kits with 17.5Ah rack batteries.
Henry’s knowledge and customer service was excellent and his advice about the installation was fantastic. I managed to do the electric bike conversions myself within a couple of hours and my wife and I are now enjoying the benefits of our new ebikes and riding every chance we can get. I had a small question about which side the speed controller grip should be mounted during the kit installation and my question was answered immediately by Will when I phoned the store.
I just can’t thank you guys enough for the service and the fantastic products you sold me. No bull-dust salesmanship, just honest competent technical advice on the outcome we wanted to achieve. And at a fantastic price for the 2 kits! The original bikes were just plain old Anaconda Fluid 2 hybrid bicycles which are about 3 years old now. They’re not high end bikes but they do us especially well now with the eBike conversion. We have found that our weekend rides have expanded by more than double the distance we were able to ride prior to the conversion and the rides themselves are now much more enjoyable. We are both over 60 so the conversion to eBikes has enabled us to ride with far less pressure on our senior knees, especially up hills. We will be recommending Solar Bike and especially the Fremantle store to everyone we can. All the best and thanks again.”
