Every now and then we get a bike come in for conversion that isn’t able to fit the battery within the triangle of the bike frame. This was one such case. In general, the handling is better if you can use one of the tube or tiger shark batteries that fit within the frame but if you can’t then the best option is to mount it on the carrier rack. If putting the battery on the back then, then it’s good to avoid a rear hub kit as well because it becomes quite back heavy. A front hub kit is ok on steel rigid forks but not suited to a suspension fork. This leaves the mid-drive kit as the best option and this is what we used here. The bike came together really well. Owner very happy.
